Elena’s Travelgram blogger interview

Introduce yourself – Where are you from? Where in the world are you currently?

I’m Elena – a twenty-something girl from Kyiv, Ukraine. My travels brought me to France last autumn (I wasn’t planning that, it just happened this way that I met someone special) and currently I live in a small, yet adorable city of Besancon, Franche-Comte. That’s Eastern France, close to Switzerland.

Tell us about your first trip abroad dvd media player windows 10 for free german? What first attracted you to a life abroad?

I was just 2 years old when my mom and I moved to Japan for two years, where my Dad was working on his PhD. Mom says that just in a few hours till we needed to go to the airport I’ve decided to do my “beautiful make-up” and painted the whole face with red blushes and blue mascara. It was a waterproof and couldn’t be removed that easy. She was afraid that the officials in the airport might think I’m bruised and getting abused at home herunterladen!

I don’t remember much about my life there – just got loads of photos and some random flashbacks that I’ve remembered. I’d love to re-visit amazing Japan in the next few years.

What kind of traveller are you? Backpacker? Long-term traveler? Short term? Other?

I prefer to define myself as:

–        a part-time expat in France ‘cause I need to fly back to Ukraine once in a while due to my visa regulations and work issues;

–        a budget traveler. I prefer to stay in affordable places and experience new countries like a local – eating street food, meeting new people and checking out places that are usually off the usual travel routes free pdf program. There are a lot of free things to do in each city of the world and you can spend awesome time in Paris or Zurich even if your funds are limited.

–        a bit of adventurous traveler – one day I got lost in the jungles of Indonesia, the other time I was so late for my flight that I traveled on SNCF without tickets; two stalkers followed me in India and I’ve been to a very strange funeral ceremony in Tana Toraja where the locals slaughter around 5-10 bulls in front of the awing crowed.

How do you fund yourself when travelling?

When I’ve decided to move to France, I had a talk with my boss back in Kyiv. He agreed to keep me working out stuff, so I have pretty regular income and flexible working schedule pool billard herunterladen. My job requires me to have a laptop and Wi-fi, so my location doesn’t influence it much. Besides, I’m currently working over my travel blog – Elena’s Travelgram.com, and I hope to make a few extra bucks from it too, to afford traveling longer and to more remote destinations like New Caledonia or the Galapagos Islands!

5. Your favorite place you have been to? And why?

India. Though it’s been almost two years since my trip there, I still reminiscence all the adventures I’ve had and amazing things I’ve seen.

The country’s huge and absolutely incredible in terms of culture, nature and breathtaking sights to see. You either love this country, or hate it itube app kostenlosen. In most cases it’s both.

6. Your least favorite place you have been to? And why?

Can’t name a particular one as I don’t set high expectations prior to my travels. I do realise the place would look different from the pictures I’ve seen online and my opinion may differ from the fellow travellers whose impressions I’ve read zdf mediathek video.

I didn’t like Moscow much. It’s too huge, too crowded and way to gloomy as for my taste.

7. What advice would you give to other people looking to travel?

Don’t think. Do it! You’ll never have enough money to travel or there won’t be a Right time to do it. Travel while you’re still young as there are a lot of perks and discounts in Europe like free museum admissions till you are 25-28.

Don’t have a company? Take a solo trip! You won’t believe how much new things you’ll get to know about yourself.

8 herunterladen. What is left on your bucket list for you to accomplish/see?

If I tell you the whole list, you’d finish reading this post in at least 5 hours J So I’ll keep it to top 5 things I’d like to do:

–        See the sunrise over Bagan, Myanmar.

–        Meet the local tribes in Namibia.

–        Camp at Socotra Isles near Yemen coast

–        Check out the Aral see in Kazakhstan

–        Dive at Raja Ampat, Indonesia

9. When did you start your blog? Why should people read it?

I’ve started my blog earlier this spring to share my stories and pics with friends along with some tips of how to plan trips and what’s living in France is actually like moorhuhn summer for free. It turned out that a lot of people liked it. If you’d like to have your daily feed filled with loads of amazing photos from different corners of the world and get day trip city guides for various cities around France (more coming soon!), than you should check out Elena’s Travelgram.

10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I don’t know. The world’s so huge and there are so many places I just need to see and things I’d love to do! Maybe I’ll be teaching English in China, or volunteering in Borneo, or hiking in the Himalayans.

I’ll still be chasing new experiences for sure function update for windows 10 version 1903 manually!

11. What is the biggest difference to life overseas compared to life abroad? (I think it should be at home, right?)

Living in France is fun – there are a lot of things that I find thrilling and amusing or don’t understand about the local lifestyle, yet. However, there certain challenges too. I don’t speak French well (Okay, I hardly speak any French, but I’m struggling to learn it!).

A usual visit to the Pharmacy becomes a struggle when I’m explaining in gestures what bothers me or try to pronounce correctly the name of the medicine I have written.

There are lot of papers and formalities I come across with every day as the French just love paperwork and their bureaucracy is huge even compared to the post-Soviet one in Ukraine audible hörbücher herunterladen als mp3.

But hey, I think anyone should try living abroad at least once in life! It’s one of a kind experience for sure!
